A self-contained flat created with this stunning Mansard Loft Conversion.

Our approach to this project was to create an entire new space in the loft of this classic terraced home in Hackney. The mansard loft conversion allowed for extra headroom inside the building and created a spacious environment in which to create a new flat.

Naturally, the flat needed to accommodate a new bathroom, kitchen facilities, living space and a bedroom – and planning permission was required to add a self-contained flat to this freehold property. However, the client was also keen to create a modern environment with contemporary features.

We achieved the desired result by fully project-managing proceedings and ensuring a high spec finish throughout the new flat. It now serves as a stylish modern living solution for people working in London – and a brilliant investment for the property owners, too.

OUR APPROACH

Every aspect of our fully-managed design and build process was focused on maximising the use of space in this idyllic new flat:

  • We built our own roof scaffolding, which fully protected the property
  • Planning Permission was obtained for our client
  • As the client did not want to have FD30 fire doors to comply with building regulations, we had to hardwire a fire detection system and installed WiFi enabled smoke alarms in all habitual rooms of the property
  • Underfloor heating was added beneath the stylish wooden floors
  • The cold water tank was removed from the attic and a Megaflo system was installed in the property
